Faux Postage

August 31, 2010

Here is my swap this month for a technique swap I am in. I love the faux postage technique.

First I printed to template for the postage, on copy paper. I taped a piece of window sheet to the copy paper and cut out the squares to make my template. Next print out the template on whisper white cardstock. Tape your your window sheet to your white cardstock sponge background, and then mask all but one square and stamp your image. Move your mask and stamp the next box, until your image is complete.  I added a embossed folder on the background and some words to complete my card. Quite often I will put a simple word on the front of my card, such as friends and then when I need a card I can stamp the reason for the card on the inside. So this card may be a birthday a thank you or a get well card, I love having cards made up ahead of time!!

Hostess Gift

July 29, 2010

Here is the hostess gift I gave to Lyndsey when she was the hostess last weekend. Don't you love it? Stamping on candles isn't a new idea, but I am always surprised at how pretty they are when they are done. And here is the cute die cut box I made to put it in. Want to get a cute gift? Sign up to be a hostess and you will receive a free catalog, your class fee is free and you will get a beautiful hand stamped gift from me! And if you have a party in August that has $350.00 is sales, you get an extra $25.00 in shopping dollars.

If you haven't stamped on a candle before, here are the directions: Stamp your image on tissue paper and allow to dry.

Next cut out your image as close as you can. Place it on your candle where you want it. Wrap a piece of waxed paper around your candle and heat your image with a heat gun. Heat it just long enough for the image to look wet and the tissue paper will become translucent.  That is it!

Okay, get those candles out and stamp them!!

See you next time!

Mother’s Day

May 6, 2010

Mother's Day is three days away, so I have been working on my Mother's Day cards. I am also changing my cards over for May, so this will be a card you will make if you come to a class this month. The first two cards are using a set from the mini catalog called Elements of Style.  The first card is my favorite it is embossed in Chocolate Chip Kraft ink, which will be retiring at the end of June so you better order yours soon. All Kraft ink pads will be gone except for white, vanilla and black. Ok, back to the card, I colored it in with watercolor crayons, my favorite way to color!!

The second card I added a little bit of yellow, the colors are not as vibrant partly because I used a little bit lighter colors and I used markers to color in. I didn't emboss this card, I just stamped in the chocolate chip. (I like the first one better.)

The last card is a swap from Alessandra Reyes. This is using a new set in the mini catalog too! She did a resist technique on the glossy cardstock.

Have a great day! And a great Mother's Day!!

12 Days of Christmas

December 2, 2009

I will be having a 12 days of Christmas Special for my customers. If you not have received this coupon sheet by email,

let  me know and I will forward it to you. Stampin' Up! will also be having a special 12 days of Christmas this year too! Look for updates on December 11th!!

Now on to my card for the day, this card is from a swap I did for my technique group. Each month we have a new technique and we make cards and swap them. We usually make 5 cards each and then get 5 cards back in the mail. I am also thinking about adding a technique class to my calendar so if you are interested in learning new techniques let me know.  You can sign up for the class each month or you can learn the techniques at home and join us for the swap.

I will show you what everyone else came up with for this month's technique as soon as I receive them. This month we learned the new technique Sparkly Stained Glass. It is really sparkly and pretty in person!!
