Summer is Here

July 15, 2010

I love Summer! I love getting up and seeing the blue sky and the sunshine! When I looked out the patio window I was greeted by this pretty moth. I know it isn't a butterfly, but my picture doesn't due justice, he ( or she) is biggest moth I have every seen and pretty cool looking.

As promised here are a couple cards that you will be making if you come to a class in July. These two cards were inspired by demonstrators – Coffee Cup – Erica Cerwin. Pinkbuckaroodesings.  And Just Believe was inspired by Dayanna Donng.

The first card is using a great new stamp set Morning Cup. We have needed a new coffee and tea stamp set. This one is cute!

The next card is using the stamp set Just Believe and I earned it FREE for my Sale-A-Bration sales! I love this set, it has so many possibilities! You will see a lot of ideas with this set.

Both cards are using some new colors. What do you think?

I am off now to finish getting ready for the Ronald McDonald House. I am going up today to spend the afternoon with Karen and Bonnie at University Village and then we will stamp with the families that are at the Ronald MCDonald House.

Enjoy Your Day!

Sale-A-Bration

January 11, 2010

Happy Monday I hope you all enjoyed the weekend! My daugher and I made the best pasta ever!! I am not sure if I will buy pasta again, it wasn't that hard to make either. I remember coming home from school when I was much younger and my Mom would have homemade noodles drying on the backs of all of the chairs. Well I thought about that and I just couldn't do it. So I bought this cute pasta rack to dry mine on.

Ashley and I made Seafoood Alfredo and of course Chicken Alfredo for me. It wasn't fat free, but it was a quick and very good sauce.

Here is the receipe if you are interested:

 Fettucine Alfredo

Recipe courtesy Emeril Lagasse, 2004

4 to 6 servings
Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried fettucine
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 or 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish, optional

Directions

Cook the fettucine in a pot of rapidly boiling salted water until al dente. Drain in a colander, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking liquid.

While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add garlic and saute until tender. Add heavy cream and bring to a boil. Cook until sauce has reduced slightly, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat.

Return the pasta to the pot it was cooked in, set over medium-high heat along with the reserved cooking liquid. Add the butter-cream mixture and half of the Parmesan and toss to combine thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan and garnish with parsley, if desired. Serve immediately.

Okay! On to stamping, here is a card that I made for a swap.  it is using the stamp set Vintage Tags. This is a Sale-A-Bration set which means that this stamp set is available for free with your $50.00 order.

I also added polka dots with a folder for the big shot and some polka dot ribbon.

Make it a great day!!
