Have you been to a stamp camp lately? If not here are some of the cards we are stamping this month.

I love this sparkly paper, it is dsp and is in the mini catalog that ends April 30th.

This flower vase is the ornament punch used to make a vase.

Ronald McDonald House

April 22, 2010

I want thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers yesterday for my nephew Adam. Adam was hurt in Hockey practice on Monday night. His chest was hurting and he heart rate was pretty low. He went into the ER, was transferred to Harborview and then later transferred to Children's Hospital. When I left  last night he was doing much better, I think he will be sore for a while but it looks like he will be going home today. And it appears instead of trauma to the heart, his heart rate was low because he is just very athletic!!

As some of you know I volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House once a month. We go up and stamp with the families that are staying there and receiving care at Children's Hospital. The kids look forward to making cards and projects with us! This month it was so busy I didn't have a chance to take pictures of the cards that Karen brought for the everyone to stamp. So I will share the share our swaps! I even had one this month, but I gave them all away, so I will make a new one and post it soon.

This is Karen's card using the set that is on special this month!

This is Juliet's card using upsy daisy.

This is Chris' card, and it maybe a card that we have next month at the Ronald McDonald House.

Enjoy your day!!

Tropical Party

April 21, 2010

This card is using the Tropical Party set from the Summer Mini Catalog. This is my swap that is due at the end of the month! Can you believe it? I am done early! I know it is surprising, a lot of times I am a procrastinator. But not this month!! You should be receiving your Summer Mini Catalog any day, you can look at this set and all of the new sets and accessories!

This set reminds me of Summer of course and that makes me thing of Red Mango (even though Karen and I had it for dinner on Thursday.)  Red Mango is the Best frozen yogurt! We go to the store up at University Village when we are going to the Ronald McDonald House. Well you can find about anything on the internet, so I have found a recipe that says it takes the same as Red Mango. I haven't tried it yet, since I don't have a ice cream maker. But I am guessing I will have one by this weekend! So the next stamp camp at my house, you will get to try it!!

 RED MANGO:
– 2 C plain yogurt (greek style yielded the best results)
– 1/2 C sugar (a little less than 1/2 cup, actually)
– 1/2 C milk
– between 1/8 – 1/4 tsp xanthan gum
– Mix ingredients together, follow directions for your ice cream maker (Cuisinart – 25 minutes)

Eat as is or top with your favorite fruit…or mini chocolate chips if you feel so inclined!

Xanthan gum, which works as an emulsifier. It keeps ice crystals from forming, so you get a creamier texture. Xanthan gum is what made the difference in Red Mango. You can find it at Whole Foods and other such stores.  It is also used frequently in gluten-free cooking, if you were wondering.)

Simply Adorned Line

April 20, 2010

This post was supposed to be posted on Monday, I had some issues….

I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the sunshine yesterday! I even got a little sunburned. We worked in the yard yesterday afternoon, we put beauty bark down in the backyard. It was a lot of work, but it looks great!
I did sneak in a little stamping time. I am having class here on May 1st from 11 to 2pm. We will be making projects, that can be
for yourself or they can be gifts for Moms or friends. I think anyone would love what I have planned.

You do need to register and prepay for this class, since part of this class will include a necklace from the simply adorned line. You will choose the chain and the charm.

Will also be making a book to hold the charm inserts, so they don't get lost. I am not finished designing all of the projects be some of them maybe a candle, a tile coaster, a file folder, and a bag or a box.

Here are some ideas of what the book may look like from Janet Wakeland. Also here is two samples of the necklace that I stamped this weekend. Some of you now that I love the beach, and so when I saw this new tropical set in the Summer Mini Catalog I had to have it!
